Hope is an expectation for the future. The hope of Christ's first coming was on the heart of Israel all those many years ago. The arrival of the Messiah brought Light into a dark and evil world. God promised that their hope would be fulfilled then, and He promises it again with the return of Christ. Although there will be much waiting, as there was with Christ's first advent, He arrived and will return as promised and right on time.
Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! I say, "The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him."
Lamentations 3:21-24
Labor pains are just that — painful! However, with that pain comes the expectation of new life and joy from holding a precious blessing in one's arms. The pain will eventually end and the reward will be magnificent! We can find our hope to press on during difficult seasons in life in Jesus, who came so that we may have a relationship with the Father that last forever.
For a child will be born for us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
We also have the hope of Christ's second advent, His promised return, to give us hope this holiday season. And this time, all darkness, pain, and suffering will be at its end. We will be reunited with our brothers and sisters in Christ for eternity! Allow this hope to fill your heart today, and every day following. If you haven't already, dedicate your life to Jesus Christ today. He is the only true and perfect gift!
Happy Blogmas & Merry Christmas!
