It’s My Birthday (Wishlist)

Window shopping is always fun. I often like to fill my (online) cart with whatever my heart desires. Every now and again I'll get an email beckoning me to revisit and perhaps complete my purchase, with a tiny percentage shaved off of the total amount as an added incentive. Nice try, but I hardly ever bite. My mother texted me earlier last week, "give me ideas for your birthday." I realized I really hadn't any idea at all. My husband has asked me about a few suggestions I gave him earlier this year, but I've already moved on from those. Who needs a big dumb Stanley cup anyway? Just kidding, they're not dumb; referencing the SNL skit for a few giggles.

At first I went to list out *everything* that I could want. My love language is gifts, and even something as insignificant as a candy bar will make my heart burst. There's probably something deeper there, I'm not completely materialistic, but the thought of someone going out of their way to choose something special for little old me makes me feel, well, special. And since I'm getting on in years and my birthdays are mostly just exciting for my inner child, I thought I should at least be realistic and come up with some things that I could really use and get the most out of.

I'll be doing some traveling this year so making sure I'm equipped with what I need should ease some of my nerves, so there's a few items on my wish list to help me get there and back. I also put a few “just because” things to enjoy; the Sol de Janeiro fragrance line is my absolute favorite and they have two new scents that I have yet to add to my collection! I also would like to upgrade my phone since it's been a hot minute - and I'd love to be able to take higher quality pics for my upcoming trip! If that happens, I'll have to have a new phone case, too! Lastly, my daughter has recently become obsessed with Converse high tops, and I'm all about getting a pair of platform low tops for myself!

Now it's time to stop wishing and get back to reality! Gifts or no gifts, it was at least fun to daydream for a bit!
