Just Kendra for a Day

Today's Blogust post is brought to you in part by my amazing husband, Daniel, and some cozy fantasy ambience I've got playing as I sit to write to you this morning. The kids are swimming at my mother-in-law's today, so I am spending this sunny Saturday solo. Every now and then it does my soul so much good to take a break from mothering to spend time being just Kendra. Usually, I would spend my day deep cleaning with an energetic playlist, but I spent my Friday evening getting all of my cleaning out of the way so that I could spend this time being creative and enjoying the little things that are usually interrupted or cut short.

I was so excited for all of the possibilities that today could bring that I was barely able to sleep a wink last night! By 3 a.m. I managed to finally get some rest. I woke up around 8 to the aroma of Wesley rolls, a recipe my husband has been making to celebrate the milestones of our lives since we were married. Every holiday or special occasion isn't complete without a pan of hot, delectable Wesley rolls! After breakfast with the family, I helped to get them all packed up to spend the day at Grandma's. Once I'm all by myself I usually get overwhelmed with the silence. I love a calm and quiet atmosphere, but with a house full of children it is seldom quiet.

To keep myself from sitting and scrolling my phone or wasting this precious time, I started by folding some laundry and watching one of my favorite YouTube creators. Now, I'm sipping some hot coffee from my favorite mug and pouring my heart out to you! My plans for the rest of the day are still up in the air. I know for certain I don't want to spend time on my phone or doing household tasks that I would normally do. I know I want to spend time writing; I'm already working on Blogmas 2024! I may also get outside in the sun and enjoy a stroll or a browse at Hobby Lobby. I can design my Happy Planner spread for the upcoming week or print out my Autumn planner to get a head start for the season! I will enjoy every second of this day, that's for sure!

I hope you're able to enjoy your Saturday, too! I'm taking a Blogust break on Sundays so I'll be back with another post for you on Monday, dear Reader!
