All Things Autumn

Autumn Asks
Today seems like the perfect day to romanticize everything that encompasses marvelous autumn. The weather is starting to shift and the leaves are already changing colors... it is beginning! Autumn is arriving and with it the possibilities of turning a new leaf along with it. As Anne of Green Gables once said, I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers!

What is your ideal autumn day like?
It's sweater weather and sunny. There's a hot coffee in my hand, plenty of time to read and decorate my planner. I spend time outside, crunchy leaves under foot, with my family, enjoying the beauty of God's autumn palette. I'd spend time exploring some of my favorite shops and bake something yummy with pumpkin. Then I'd end the day cozying up to watch old films!

List your favorite:
Autumn colors…
Cranberry red, golden yellow, olive green, and pumpkin orange!

Autumn scents…
Pumpkin spice, definitely, as well as anything coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, or caramel scented. I prefer the scents of desserts/food over florals.

Autumn foods...
Warm bowls of tomato or broccoli & cheddar soup, or Daniel's famous chili with baked potatoes!

Autumn treats…
Caramel apples will forever be my favorite autumn treat. Halloween candy like Mary Jane's are a close second. I'm also learning to appreciate all things pumpkin this season!

Autumn films…
Return to Oz feels very autumnal to me. Growing up I enjoyed Halloweentown, My Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire, and Hocus Pocus, of course.

Autumn shows...
Everyone always chooses Gilmore Girls, but I'd rather watch Good Witch, The Worst Witch, or Once Upon a Time!

Where are your favorite places to visit in autumn?
Since Ezekiel was born I love our family outings to the pumpkin patch.

What was your favorite Halloween costume?
For Ezekiel's first Halloween, my husband was part of a trunk-or-treat even where the theme was "The Wizard of Oz." It was my first time dressing up as Dorothy. My son was the cutest little Scarecrow and my husband was the cowardly lion.

What are you looking forward to most about autumn?
Keeping up with family traditions and making new ones!

Describe autumn in one word:
Magical!
