Christmas in October + Free Planner Checklist

Halloween season is here, but Christmas is drawing near! 77 days to be exact. That's a little over two months to get ahead. If you don't want to be running around at the last minute, now is the time to start getting ready for Christmas Day. You don't have to put up your tree just yet (unless that's what you want to do, in which case, go right ahead!), but there are several ways that you can get prepared before the merriest and busiest time of year.

The easiest way to begin is by updating your calendar. Keep track of all of your commitments and save the dates for holiday get togethers. Pencil in a day to take family photos for your Christmas cards. Make room for a little downtime amidst the hustle and bustle of the season. Leave no deadline unmarked!

Secondly, create a master checklist. Your list can include gifts to buy, choice of stocking stuffers, addresses to send cards to, and your Christmas dinner menu and grocery list.

It's important to set a budget ahead of time and stick with it. A shopping list will never go amiss. And while you're at it, a pre-Christmas household declutter will get you ready to embrace the season with room to spare. It's the perfect time to make those donations and to let go of what no longer serves you. Planning ahead doesn't have to be boring or tedious either. You can also dream up a theme for your Christmas decorations and what you would like to add to your displays. It's the perfect time to try new recipes, too.

The next 77 days will come and go whether or not you've planned and prepared. To make it easier for you, I've created the Christmas Planner to help get your preparations underway.
