Countdown to Shakira with KW

The Shakira fan in me couldn't resist adding in a little tour countdown to the Blogtober festivities! This is my second time attending one of her tours. The first concert I ever experienced was her Oral Fixation Tour show in Atlanta in September of 2006. It was the night before a big chemistry test, so I had to fly down and back the next day in time to take my exam... which I failed miserably and ended up reevaluating my future career in pharmacy. Anyway, my being horrible at organic chemistry is off topic. I didn't get to enjoy the first half of the concert because I ended up being 30 minutes late. When I walked into the arena I could already hear her belting out Inevitable. I felt like I was right where I belonged! The hour and half show went by as fast as lightning, but I still remember her performances vividly. Watching them back on DVD makes me feel as if I'm right back in the stadium with her! That night made it into my top ten all-time best experiences. Millions of thanks due to dearest Erica, I'm about to relive that experience for a second time! This tour is said to be her most extensive yet! Shakira never fails to exceed expectations, so my goal is to be as ready and prepared to enjoy every single second of it.

Just when I thought this trip couldn't get any better, Erica surprised my daughter Evie with a ticket to join us! Twenty-odd years ago, I introduced Erica to the Colombian artist that I adored—I still have the photos of us shaking it to Whenever, Wherever and rocking out to Objection (Tango) in our matching tanks and plaid pants. Only ten years ago, my sweet Pearl had no choice really but to listen to her Momma's ShakiFan4Eva playlist. It turns out she's a fan, too, and so this tour will be my once in a lifetime bucket list accomplishment. It's the ultimate girls trip; we're getting all glammed up for a night out with Shakira! And you, dear reader, will get to hear all about the experience! But first, we need to properly build anticipation and milk every day leading up to the big event for all it's worth. Next week I'm sharing my dream tour setlist. If you're not already listening to her music, which is loca of you ( ¿a que esperas?), you may want to start now. It's never too late to join the Shak's Wolfpack!
