Currently… January

January came in with big blankets of snow and ice, which meant extra family time and lots of sleeping in! I got in a full 14 hours of sleep one of those cold, snowy days, and it. was. glorious. After a few days though, I thought that I was going to go crazy if our routine didn't return to normal. However, once the kids were finally back in class, I couldn't help but feel like the house was a little too quiet.

I love how January feels like a “chapter one” month. I didn’t like how moody and depressed I was feeling at the start of the new year. Finally, I’m getting a chance to get into a routine that will keep me productive and able to enjoy the quiet and chaotic times to come. Here’s what’s been going on this month as I work on finishing the chapter that is January 2025!

READING
The book of Hebrews with my sis! More specifically, we're doing Jen Wilkins' "Better" study for the next ten weeks. It's like no other study I've done before and so far I'm getting so much out of it!

LISTENING
My current playlist is a bit all over the place, but here's what I've been playing frequently over the last couple of days:
Bastille's "All This Bad Blood" album. It's a vibe and me and my girls are loving it.
Mañana Será Bonito by Karol G
Solitude by M83
Cruel World by Active Child
Metal & Dust by London Grammar
Dreams by Gabrielle Aplin & Bastille
In the Summer by Crystal Fighters
Bloodflow by Vaults
So High by Ghost Loft
This Life by Josef Salvat
and unrelated 1989 Belgian Techno anthem, Pump Up the Jam by Technotronic feat. Felly

WATCHING
Roseanne (I think it's almost like I'm watching my life in sitcom form)
The 10th Kingdom (my emotional support show)
(soon to be watching) New episodes of Father Brown!

ENJOYING
Snow days, where time doesn't exist, schedules are wide open, and we don't have to leave the house.

MISSING
Also snow days, where time doesn't exist, schedules are wide open, and we don't have to leave the house.

NEEDING
To update my skincare/beauty routine. I'm using the same cleanser as my 12-year-old, but it's only working for one of us!

PLANNING
My next blog challenge, and my upcoming fitness journey that will hopefully get me to Summer 2025! At the time of writing this post I'm over a week in!

FEELING
Hopeful for the first time in months. A complete 180 from  what I was feeling, which was a lot similar to how Job felt in Job 3! Talking to God has helped a lot, also crying out to God. Holding onto this feeling for as long as I can!
