Spring R.E.P.O.R.T

Happy Spring @ KW

If winter is a long, cold sleep, then spring is a beautiful, magical awakening. I was starting to feel like I was also going dormant, but now that the earth is back in bloom, I think I am too. It’s the beginning of new possibilities and new life. I love how God made the seasons, each in their time, and how He takes us through our own times of growing and of pruning, resting and blooming. I have a feeling this season is my time to BLOOM! I've been extra focused on taking care of myself spiritually, physically, and mentally. For the first time in my life I am feeling unstoppable! I am excited for all of the opportunities that Spring will bring and am so ready for a beautiful, magical awakening!

My days start the night before. I have been very strict with myself about getting enough sleep, because a tired momma is a cranky momma, and I don't want to rub my bad mood off on my kids in the morning. I usually tuck in around 10:30 every night and get up (maybe after a quick snooze) around 6:00 to start my day. Once the kids are fed, dressed, and off to school, I tackle some things around the house before getting in my workout. Working out after breakfast/before lunch is the best time for me to get moving. I have plenty of energy and the kids are usually playing well enough so I can focus on my session. Sometimes they even join in for a few reps! And, lunch afterward feels like a reward for my hard work! I cannot stop making tuna salad on toast. It gives me life. Add bell pepper slices and a pickle and voila! Lunch of champions!

My sunny afternoons are spent dreaming of a chaos garden. The only type of chaos that's welcome near my house, of course. I recently purchased my first ever bounty of seeds and am so excited to learn more about how to plant and grow a beautiful garden of my own. We have a few perennials that have already bloomed this year and they just inspire me further to douse my garden with as much color and variety as possible! I recently became acquainted with Allison Bickerstaff via her YouTube gardening videos and feel quite encouraged that one day I'll have my own beautiful blooms to enjoy.

When the sun starts to set, the usual evening rush ensues. You can always find me in the kitchen corner; cooking dinner, packing lunches, and washing dishes. I want to get back into reading but usually try to read all the books at once, so this Spring I decided to tackle one at a time and allow myself to fully be immersed. I'm unwinding after a long, hot bath with Ashley Clark's Paint & Nectar. This story takes place in Charleston over several different timelines and has been an entertaining read so far. I'm six chapters in and hooked!

Spring has just begun! I feel its excitement and new life everywhere I look! I can't wait to explore what it holds over the coming weeks and write all about it here! What do you have planned for the season? What will spring bring for you?
